In the 50s, being a "new" and incurable disease, C.F. caused the death of many young children. In 1958 Zvi was the first case to be diagnosed as C.F. at Tel-Hashomer Hospital. This enabled the doctors to change their treatment of the disease, which until then was thought to be a severe case of Asthma. Despite his severe illness, 41-year old Zvi succeeded until lately to lead a full life, proudly supporting his family by working as a Taxi driver. Together with his wife, he raised three beautiful children. Although being very busy with his job and the therapy he has to undergo, he has managed not to give up his hobbies: horseback riding and voluntary Police work, which he has been doing for the last 17 years on a regular basis. It is now a year that Zvi has been waiting for a lung transplant in Israel. His condition has worsened and he is oxygen-dependant 24/7. This means that Zvi can no longer wait for a lung donation from a deceased person.
