THE FIGHT FOR  LIFE GOES ON!

On January 18th about 4PM Zvika got a phone call, a phone call he has been waiting for over a year. “We have a donor,” and I'll meet you at Chaim Sheba Medical Center Tel Hashomer, said Gila the transplant coordinator.
The double-lung transplant surgery had started at 9 PM and it was performed by Prof. Alon Yellin and his team. Professor Alon Yellin came out from the surgery room the following morning at 5 AM to give us the Good News, “The surgery went well and Zvika is doing very good”.  At 6 AM, Zvika was moved to the Intensive Care Unit and at about 4 PM January 19th he woke up and pointed his thumb up to tell us he is OK. Later on he was talking and even making jokes.

At the moment we don’t know much about the donor except that he is a young man in his early 20’s from Haifa.

Zvika and his family would like to express their deepest condolences to the family and to congratulate them on their brave decision to donate their son’s organs.
That decision gave Zvika and others one more chance at Life.
